What Does Red, White and Blue Really Mean? (c) GMG

As long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you otherwise might.” – Marian Anderson

Today’s few words are dedicated not to those years ago who fought tirelessly for our rights as a nation, but those who fight in today’s world, for our rights as individuals.  Yes. we are incredibly lucky to live in a nation where we can protest, speak freely and practice the faith we believe in.  On this Independence Day, as my daughter cuddles with me to watch fireworks,  I hope her 4th of July’s are filled with reminders of those who have gone before so she could truly choose the path to her true happiness. Ava’s presence changes everything. Hearing her questions about limitations makes me want to crash through the barriers for her and lead a path behind.  Happy Independence Day from our family to yours.
