Complacency is a state of mind that exists only in retrospective: it has to be shattered before being ascertained.

One of the many sins of blogging, is letting your WordPress sit for 2 and a half weeks. Forgive me, for I have sinned. It’s all come down to a single fear, in my daily life or in setting weekly goals: Mediocrity terrifies me. With a busying schedule and looming bouts of perfectionism- sometimes, I struggle to blog in a way that will reach, or inspire. I’ve often thought that mediocrity is a disease, or an affliction. Contagious to those that succumb to it’s power and ultimately numbing the senses; it extinguishes sparks of greatness.
Perhaps a bigger sin than not finding the right words, is refusing to allow yourself to look deeper, and feel what it is that you have the power to truly be about. That must be our greatest fault as humans: the ability to ignore the very things that make us spectacular.
