“Where have you been all my life?…”
It’s such a loaded question, isn’t it? I had a million ways to answer. ”I was getting my heart broken so that when I finally met the one person who saw the beauty in cracks, I was ready.”
I used to tell myself that I wasn’t going to get excited about anything until something came out of it. The excitement- tiny sparks that shot down my spine when gears lined up, or two worlds came into coexistence is meant to shock my senses, and frankly? I need extraordinary- emotion, and the blinding light before the loud smash. There’s a reason that Christmas and Birthdays never cease to be less exciting as the years grow for me: Opportunity awaits under each wrapped package. I’d forgotten.
To endless possibilities and renewals of our souls. Here’s to a season of saying, “Yes.”
