A friend of mine recently brought up a statement I pondered for a few days. ”Kate,” (she said as her hand flipped the dinner spoon back and forth,) “You blog about everything else. See if your blog can find you someone worth it.” I tell job seekers daily to be willing to be transparent about their wants and offerings to be successful. With a few helpful tips and great input from patient friends and my current soul-mate, (Red Mambo Wine,) here it is:
. . . . . .
Intelligent, authentic and always polite girl seeks scathingly-hot, witty, and entirely single man who is either gloriously English, or can fake an accent like its nobody’s business.
- Long walks on the beach are preferred, but will be immediately and happy replaced with incredible conversation over dinner and erupting giggles that makes all other restaurant patrons quite jealous.
- I value integrity and emotional availability and the presence of no missing teeth. Blue eyes, a delicious grin and tight abs mean nothing to be unless you have a truly good heart. I’ll trade all the above for someone who is of firm character and open beliefs with values that bring those around them higher. Be influential and inspiring.
- Must love small children, (preferably red-headed, addicted to macaroni and cheese with a sing-song voice and enough impetuous chatter to put all other preschoolers to shame.) Titles besides boyfriend may include: junglegym, referee, lover, partner and most importantly: Laser Tag Opponent.
- Must hate drama and hanging up the phone when angry and unable to communicate with adult words. Must love conversations that start with, “If I was an aardvark...” or “Because of the state of the current economy...”
- Be willing to tell me when I’m wrong with enough love in the sentence that I care more about hearing your position than defending my honor.
- Have his own personality, goals, schedule and friends, but willing to share all the in-betweens.
- Non-Smoker, Non-Cat-Owner, and thoroughly non-bullsh*t.

I trust wise, sincere, and real men are listening. Your transparency and wit certainly resonate with the finest of the male gender. May you be blessed with all you expressed, and all you haven’t yet shared, yet deserve.
